Objectives

We are a group of young people who approached a trusted youth organisation to develop and run a youth exchange. We want to run this project because we see food and performance as powerful tools to bring people together and inspire change. We write this project with the aim to help participants and our peers to explore sustainability by mixing creativity with cooking and performance. Beyond the environmental side, food has a powerful social role. It connects people and communities. In the outskirts of Berlin, where the project will take place, we see this disconnect as a chance to engage with the very international local cuisine culture, explore nature, and learn sustainable practices FOOD, something we all connect with,it’s part of our culture, our families, and our routines. This project tackles both environmental and social issues by creating a space where young people from different countries can learn, share, and collaborate. We plan to organise sessions about cooking, performances, foraging, upcycling, and visual communication of food. In this way participants will explore sustainability in a way that’s interactive, fun, and meaningful. We also believe that food is strongly connected to the socio-political sphere, as food is also something that transcends borders. Objectives: OB1: Promote sustainable food practices participants will learn hands-on skills in sustainable cooking, using local, vegetarian ingredients with a focus on reducing food waste; they will be foraging, visiting local producers and restaurants, collecting raw ingredients with their hands with local experts - we want to show how food choices can have a positive environmental impact. OB2: Encourage creative expression We will combine food and performance in a way that pushes participants to think creatively to express their stories, cultures, and thoughts about the environment. OB3: Build intercultural dialogue We will host from Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Greece, Romania, so that this project will create and favour an exchange of experiences and perspectives. Participants will learn from each other’s food traditions and life stories, breaking down cultural barriers by working together in diverse groups. OB4: Engage the local community At the end of the project, we will CREATE AN EVENT where we will invite local residents to join us in celebrating the participants’ work, in the Stages and Spices event, organised and performed by participants! OB5: To spread the results of the projects by means of photos, videos, testimonials, social media posts, through this increasing the visibility of E+ programmes OB6: to CREATE A COOKBOOK with sustainable practices, tips and tricks, traditional recipes, that will be shared across the social media platforms of each partner. OB7: to create at least 5 follow up activities in each partner country to disseminate the event and engage more people on sustainability and the Erasmus+ world.
