Objectives

“Story to Action – Storytelling for Change-Makers” is an international training course taking place in Yerevan, Armenia (11–20 July 2026), designed to empower youth workers and youth leaders with the skills to use storytelling as a transformative tool for advocacy, inclusion, and civic engagement. Building upon the successes of earlier Erasmus+ initiatives such as "Tell Your Story" and "Culture Matters: Dialogue for Inclusion", this project moves beyond simple narrative sharing and focuses on how personal and community stories can spark meaningful action. Through practical labs in visual, oral, and digital storytelling, participants will learn to connect narratives with campaigns, youth projects, and community initiatives. The training will result in two concrete outputs: 1. The Story to Action Guide for Youth Workers – a practical resource for integrating storytelling into youth work. 2. The Online Story Bank – a digital platform showcasing authentic youth voices from across Europe, ensuring that underrepresented perspectives are heard and valued. Why this project is needed: In today’s rapidly changing society, young people face multiple challenges: rising inequalities, exclusion of disadvantaged groups, polarization, and limited opportunities for meaningful participation in civic life. Many young people from vulnerable backgrounds—such as migrants, individuals from low-income families, or those facing cultural barriers—struggle to have their voices heard in decision-making processes. Storytelling has proven to be a powerful method for building empathy, strengthening inclusion, and inspiring civic action. Yet, youth workers often lack structured training and practical tools to harness storytelling effectively in their work. This project addresses that gap by equipping youth workers with innovative methods to amplify youth voices, particularly those from marginalized communities, and channel stories into advocacy and social change. Main Goal: To strengthen the capacity of youth workers to use storytelling as a practical tool for inclusion, empowerment, and civic engagement, enabling them to transform personal and community narratives into drivers of positive social change. Objectives: 1. Capacity Building: Equip 32 youth workers and youth leaders with practical skills in visual, oral, and digital storytelling. 2. Inclusion & Empowerment: Support youth leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds to share their stories and become advocates for change. 3. Innovation in Youth Work: Promote creative and non-formal storytelling methods as tools for advocacy, youth participation, and intercultural dialogue. 4. Sustainability & Dissemination: Create two lasting outputs – the Story to Action Guide and the Online Story Bank – to extend project impact across Europe. 5. Cross-border Cooperation: Strengthen collaboration among youth organizations in Germany, Armenia, Georgia, and Bulgaria to foster solidarity and exchange of best practices.
