Our Music for Inclusion project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers by equipping them with practical, music-based and arts-based facilitation tools that promote inclusion, participation, and emotional well-being in youth work. By integrating creative, non-verbal methods into their daily practice, the project will enable youth workers to better reach and engage disadvantaged young people, including those with language barriers, low self-confidence, or limited access to participatory opportunities. Our ultimate goal is to make youth work more innovative, inclusive, and effective by using music and movement as universal languages to foster meaningful learning, group cohesion, and social integration. Project Objectives from a Youth Work Perspective 1-Develop new competencies for youth workers: +Provide participants with at least 10 music-based facilitation tools that can be directly applied in workshops, youth centres, and community settings. +Strengthen youth workers’ skills in non-verbal communication, inclusive group management, and creative facilitation. 2-Foster inclusion in daily youth work practice: +Equip youth workers with methods specifically designed to engage marginalised and disadvantaged young people, such as refugees, rural youth, or NEETs. +Train youth workers to create safe, welcoming, and culturally sensitive learning environments. 3-Promote innovation in youth work methodology: +Introduce music and arts-based learning as an alternative to traditional verbal and cognitive approaches. +Encourage the co-creation of adaptable workshop formats that can be integrated into local youth programmes. 4-Strengthen international cooperation and peer learning: +Bring together 24 youth workers from 6 countries (Germany, Austria, Türkiye, Romania, Portugal, and Sweden) to exchange good practices and collaborate on inclusive, creative approaches. +Build a long-term professional network of youth workers who can continue to share and develop new tools beyond the project. 5-Ensure sustainability and multiplier effects: +Support participants in creating Back-to-Community Action Plans to implement what they have learned locally. +Enable each partner organisation to integrate the project’s tools into their ongoing youth work and share them within their regional and national networks.
