Objectives

Youth workers play a pivotal role as guides, mentors, and protectors, supporting young people as they navigate the challenges of the digital age. With the growing prevalence of technology dependency and cyberbullying, it is essential for youth workers to remain vigilant, sensitive, and proactive in addressing these risks. Their capacity to recognize early warning signs, provide emotional support, and create safe spaces for dialogue is indispensable for safeguarding young people’s well-being. However, in order to effectively fulfill this responsibility, youth workers themselves require continuous training and capacity-building opportunities. Structured education on digital literacy, online safety, and psychosocial support equips them with the necessary knowledge and practical tools to respond effectively, prevent harm, and strengthen the overall impact and quality of youth work. SafeTechYou Project has been designed to bridge the knowledge and skills gap among youth workers and active youth organizations in tackling technology addiction and cyberbullying. It aims to empower youth workers to conduct protective and preventive activities more effectively while promoting a conscious and balanced approach to technology and internet use among young people. At the same time, the project seeks to diversify youth work by integrating protection and prevention strategies and fostering a culture of healthy living. Project Objectives: 1) To enhance the digital literacy of youth workers and equip them with the skills necessary to support young people in using technology responsibly. 2) To mitigate the impact of cyberbullying and promote a safer digital environment for young people. 3) To foster the integration of non-formal educational methods into youth work practices, enabling young people to develop critical digital skills and resilience. 4) To establish sustainable partnerships among youth organizations across Europe, encouraging the exchange of best practices and methodologies in the fields of digital literacy and youth empowerment. 5) To enable participants to design and implement protection and prevention activities that enhance the quality of life for young people. 6) To strengthen the individual and institutional capacities of project participants through training courses, ensuring long-term positive impacts in youth work.
