Our project idea is to visit school social workers from Turku at their workplaces, hear about their experiences and exchange ideas with them. We want to get a feel for the atmosphere at the schools, find out what the general conditions are like and what tasks school social workers have at the interface between school and youth welfare/youth work. We want to talk to young people themselves and hear how school social work supports them. By visiting youth (welfare) facilities, we want to get to know the places and people associated with school social work. We are curious to find out what solutions school social workers in Turku pursue when young people need support. Therefore: Let's get out of our bubble! Our encounter should help us broaden our professional horizons and gain new inspiration for our work in Cologne. We hope to learn about new approaches and inspire each other through the exchange of experiences. Our work is challenging, and we want practical ideas for our everyday work. Best practices that promote mental health. Best practices that help to identify and mitigate psychosocial stress at an early stage. Best practices that promote acceptance and mutual support in diverse groups. 'Get out of the bubble!' is also a long-term goal for us. Establishing a partnership between school social workers from Turku and Cologne will lay the foundation for building further partnerships. The aim is to create a network of European school social workers. This network will promote the ongoing exchange of ideas and resources, thereby positively influencing our regular work with young people.
