The long-term goal of the project is to improve accessibility in society by strengthening youth with disabilities as accessibility experts and giving them the courage to use their voice. Many youth experience daily barriers that prevent them from participating in education, activities, and communities. Through the project, they will have the opportunity to test and assess accessibility and provide systematic feedback to organizations and companies. In this way, they become an important voice in the work for more inclusive societies while also developing competences in identifying barriers, arguing for change, and formulating solutions, which build confidence in influencing their surroundings. SUMH and its member organizations will strengthen their capacity to engage young people in this work, while SUMH collects the experiences and uses them in national advocacy. Through this project, the first steps are taken to train new disability advocates and make society more accessible.
