We are young people from Moldova and Estonia, countries with similar past and very different present. However some issues that our countries face are similar, due to the current nature of social media, war in Ukraine and massive spread of propaganda and disinformation. This topic was identified during the Project-writing online Programme implemented by MNOE, where we started by identifying personal interests in different topics. Each member was asked to add a short description of an idea they would like to implement in a padlet https://padlet.com/moldovanoorteeestis/add-your-brainstorming-topic-here-qp2jn3h350dwzn4u. Then we had a chance to provide comments to each others ideas and to find similar topics or topics we would like to contribute to. This is how our group was formed. After this we worked as a team with several meetings each week to combine our ideas and create this project. Through Think Forward, we aim to empower young people from Moldova and Estonia to critically engage with media, recognize misinformation, and use digital tools responsibly. From a youth work perspective, the project focuses on developing participants’ critical thinking, media literacy, public speaking, storytelling, and debating skills in an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment. The objectives are to: 1.Equip young people with tools for critical thinking and media literacy so they can analyse and recognize false or manipulative information. 2.Provide creative and interactive methods-storytelling, roleplay, workshops, debates, that help youth practice self-expression, teamwork and responsible communication. 3.Create a safe and inclusive space where every participant feels valued, listened to, and empowered to speak up. 4. Motivate youth to act as multipliers in their communities, using their new skills to inspire others and to foster a culture of responsibility, dialogue and civic engagement. 5. Create a social media campaign on TikTok or Instagram to inform and educate wider public on media literacy and critical thinking. This approach combines non-formal learning, hands-on digital production, and peer-to-peer engagement, ensuring participants gain both skills and confidence to act as informed, active citizens. Besides that, through participatory approach at each stage of the project, from project writing to evaluation, we aim to develop a variety of skillset that young people would feel confident to lead initiatives in their communities and create international learning experiences in future.
