At the heart of this project is a simple but vital aim: to empower youth workers with creative and transformative tools so that they can better accompany young people in times of difficulty, while also taking care of their own resilience and wellbeing. This project is born from a simple yet urgent observation: many young people today are struggling with apathy, disconnection, depression, or — on the other side — an unhealthy obsession with “success” and external validation. From the perspective of youth work practice, we see that youth workers often meet adolescents who feel lost, demotivated, or overwhelmed by pressure to succeed, and at the same time youth workers themselves risk exhaustion if they do not have deep, sustaining methods. Our project wants to meet both of these realities. By using the Hero’s Journey methodology and art-based techniques, we want to strengthen youth workers’ competences to guide young people through critical stages of adolescence — discovering their inner call, facing challenges, building self-confidence — while also giving youth workers strategies to prevent burnout, renew their own motivation and stability, and stay inspired in their profession. Objectives: -to equip youth workers with strategies for guiding young people through the difficulties of adolescence and helping them grow into resilient and motivated individuals; -to develop youth workers’ competences in applying the Hero’s Journey methodology and art-based methods in their daily practice; -to provide tools for preventing burnout and fostering long-term resilience among youth workers themselves; -to create a safe and inclusive international space for sharing practices, experiences, and mutual support among youth workers; -to build an active network of trained youth workers who can continue cooperation, consultation and peer learning beyond the project. We do not simply want to add another tool to the toolbox of youth work — we want to offer a process that touches the inner motivation of those who guide others, so that both youth workers and the young people they support can find their path, face their challenges with courage, and return to their communities carrying something meaningful to share.
