Objectives

"Survive and Thrive" Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, directly responds to the challenges young people face today, by offering an empowering, experiential learning environment promoting inclusion, participation, well-being, environmental sustainability and active citizenship using sports as a tool. The main aim is to empower young people through non-formal and experiential learning rooted in outdoor adventure, intercultural dialogue, fostering the principles of the 11 European Youth Goals. Through survivor-style games linked to the 11 European Youth Goals, participants develop vital life skills in a dynamic, outdoor setting that encourages personal growth and resilience. By engaging with topics like mental health, youth rights, environmental protection, equality, and digital responsibility in a fun, hands-on way, the project fosters awareness and critical thinking. Participants are not only informed but actively involved in designing solutions, expressing their voices and overcoming outdoor challenges to inspire their peers. This youth exchange creates a space where young people are valued as contributors, not just learners - equipping them to face today’s challenges with confidence and to help shape a more inclusive and sustainable Europe. The objectives of this Youth Exchange are: - Promote a healthy lifestyle through group work and outdoor sports activities. - Increase awareness and understanding of the 11 European Youth Goals. - Develop key competences such as communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving through team-based survivor games and cooperative missions in a multicultural environment. - Foster youth participation, inclusion and civic engagement across diverse cultural backgrounds. - Promote environmental responsibility and sustainable practices, inspired by the natural setting of Tinos island and through nature-based challenges. - Support mental well-being, digital detox and emotional resilience using reflective and peer-support activities in nature. - Raise awareness about the positive effects of sports in our lives, combatting sedentary lifestyles and mental health problems - Build cooperation, and leadership through physical and social challenges. - Empower young participants as Ambassadors of the Youth Goals, capable of spreading awareness and action back home. - Inspire local engagement by involving local youth and communities. "Survive and Thrive" offers a fresh, innovative model of non-formal education, one that empowers young people to step out of their comfort zones, connect with nature and become active agents of change in their communities and beyond. Set against a backdrop of picturesque Cycladic villages, sandy beaches and local folklore, this project combines physical adventure with social impact. From navigating natural trails and solving team missions in the villages to building environmental habits on the beach and debating in public, participants will engage in hands-on learning with the aim to acquire important life skills in leadership, cooperation, resilience and problem-solving. The project promotes inclusion, personal growth and European identity, while encouraging youth to become proactive change-makers. The island setting adds depth to the experience, reconnecting participants with nature, simplicity and community values. The exchange aims to spark youth engagement on a personal, local and European level.
