With the implementation of this project we want, above all, to give young people the opportunity to realize that nature and real contact with people can replace - even temporarily - the constant dependence on digital devices. Our aim is to offer an eight-day experience in a camping environment, where participants will experience activities in nature, work in teams and learn practical methods to find a balance between the digital and natural worlds. From the perspective of working with young people, our project initially aims to enhance their mental resilience and personal development. 'Digital detox' is offered as an experiential method, allowing young people to try out ways to reduce their dependence on mobile or social media, at the same time as working in groups in outdoor activities. In this way, we foster self-awareness, critical thinking and collaboration-skills crucial in today's environment. Our second important goal is intercultural exchange: by bringing together young people from Greece, Romania, Spain and Latvia, we create a vibrant field where different cultures meet, communicate and share good practices. Whether it's a cultural cooking evening or a group hike, the bottom line is that participants meet people from other places, exchange ideas and perceptions and, ultimately, build bridges of cooperation that can last even after the project is over. At the same time, we seek to raise young people's awareness of the natural environment and the need for sustainable practices. Within the campsite, activities such as beach clean-ups, using recycled materials in crafts and small workshops will be organised where participants will learn about the ecological value of the island. Thus, we are not just stopping at disconnecting from the internet, but moving towards a more meaningful contact with nature, which works educationally and confronts young people with issues of environmental responsibility. An important part of our objectives is also to strengthen cooperation among young people themselves. The outdoor activities are based on non-formal learning: participants plan group games, share volunteer tasks (e.g. cooking, setting up tents) and discuss daily how they experience digital detox. In this way, everyone feels important, takes on roles, becomes more responsible and sees in practice how solidarity and teamwork can transform small tasks (such as a beach clean-up) into large self-improvement experiences. Finally, we want to create a wave of dissemination of these successful practices. After the project is over, young people return to their communities and share what they experienced - through presentations at school or university, by posting photos and stories on social media, or through simple daily conversations. This fosters a greater awareness of the sensible use of technology, the value of nature, the power of collective effort and the potential for youth to take action. Overall, our project aspires to change mindsets, to highlight non-formal learning as a lever for self-awareness and teamwork, and to pave the way for new, more meaningful forms of cooperation between young people from all corners of Europe.
