Objectives

Digital Seeds is inspired by the teenage group of HYP, as its members had previously taken part in awareness-raising activities such as “Take a Green Step”, “Game Changers” and “Green is Easy” and expressed the wish to create a project that combines topics relevant to their interests. They also wanted to offer an opportunity for peers who had not yet participated in a European mobility program. Responding to their request, the HYP team co-designed Digital Seeds with them. The overall aim of the program is to raise environmental awareness among young people, to equip them with the necessary tools for responsible and conscious use of social media, and to empower them to take action. Through their participation, young people will be informed and sensitized about environmental and sustainability issues, develop green skills, reflect on content production and consumption on social media, enhance their media literacy, and create their own digital content focused on environmental awareness. The specific objectives of the program are: 1.To educate participants on environmental issues and sustainable practices through non-formal learning methods. 2.To help participants develop skills in digital storytelling and social media content creation, with a focus on sustainability messages. 3.To empower participants to become sustainability ambassadors, promoting positive change through digital media. 4.To encourage collaboration between young people from different countries, promoting intercultural learning and the exchange of good practices. 5.To create a lasting impact on both participants and their local communities by sharing the environmental content produced during the youth exchange. To achieve these goals, non-formal education methods will be applied by the partner organizations’ youth workers and the experienced facilitators of the youth exchange. The aim is for participants to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes in line with the program’s values and the GreenComp, DigComp, and Youthpass competence frameworks.
