Objectives

Re:Body aims to integrate movement and theatre-based methods into youth work practice, specifically designed to engage marginalized youth (e.g., NEETs, migrants, youth from low-income backgrounds) who may struggle with traditional educational tools. By using inclusive methods, we seek to foster a more welcoming, creative, and emotionally safe space for youth workers to engage young people, enabling them to express themselves, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills. The project will train youth workers to apply psychoeducational methods, including embodied practices like theatre and movement, to support the psychosocial and emotional development of marginalized youth. This is crucial for addressing the mental well-being and resilience of young people, particularly those who face barriers such as stress, trauma, and isolation. Through this approach, youth workers will be equipped with tools to help youth manage stress, build empathy, and enhance communication skills—skills that are foundational for both personal growth and future professional success. The non-verbal, creative techniques used in this project will prioritize emotional safety, creating environments where youth workers can better support vulnerable groups who may face social isolation, identity-related challenges, or unresolved trauma. By embedding practices that respect neurodiversity and cultural differences, we will ensure youth workers are equipped to meet the diverse needs of their participants and foster an environment of social inclusion and mutual respect. Additionally, Re:Body will address the growing issue of digital overwhelm, offering a respite from the constant digital engagement that many marginalized youth face. The use of embodied, offline learning will provide a balance, promoting mental well-being and encouraging youth to reconnect with physical expression as an alternative to technology-driven learning environments. Beyond the immediate training course, Re:Body seeks to create long-term networks and opportunities for youth workers to collaborate, share resources, and build future projects focused on inclusive education and embodied learning. By encouraging peer support and mentorship, the project will help build a community of practice that continues to evolve and innovate long after the formal activities have ended, creating sustainable impact and growth in the field of youth work
