Urban Civic Lab aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to engage young people in civic participation and inclusive community development. The project focuses on equipping youth workers with practical tools, creative methods, and the confidence to support young people in shaping the public spaces and social environments around them. From the perspective of youth work practice, the objective is to introduce participatory approaches that make civic engagement more accessible and meaningful, especially for young people who face social, economic, or cultural barriers to participation. The project seeks to develop competences that help youth workers facilitate co-creation processes, lead local initiatives, and build stronger links between grassroots youth work and public life. Through non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, and applied learning, Urban Civic Lab aims to empower youth workers to act as facilitators of democratic engagement and to bring innovation and inclusion into their daily practice. The project also supports the long-term goal of positioning youth work as an essential contributor to democratic societies and youth-responsive urban development.
