Objectives

The project “CivicRise: Strengthening Youth Work for Inclusive Participation” aims to improve the quality and impact of youth work by equipping youth workers with the competences, tools, and confidence to engage young people in inclusive civic and democratic participation. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project responds to the growing need for innovative, inclusive, and accessible methods to reconnect youth—especially those from marginalised communities—with democratic life. In many communities, youth workers are on the front lines of addressing disengagement, apathy, or exclusion from public and political life. However, they often lack structured tools or training to address civic participation in ways that are relevant, empowering, and youth-led. CivicRise aims to: Strengthen the capacity of youth workers to design and implement activities that promote civic engagement and democratic participation, especially among youth with fewer opportunities; Share inclusive, creative, and non-formal education tools that support youth empowerment and community involvement; Facilitate peer learning among youth workers from five countries, allowing them to exchange practices, reflect on challenges, and co-create new approaches; Promote the recognition of learning in youth work through the Youthpass process and by encouraging reflection on key competences; Encourage youth organisations to adopt more strategic and inclusive approaches to civic education in their regular programming. By investing in the professional development of youth workers, the project contributes to the development of high-quality, innovative, and inclusive youth work that supports the broader goals of democracy, equality, and participation.
