The Futuro Ancestral project seeks to inspire and empower young people to discover new ways of living and developing in rural areas, highlighting their cultural, ecological and community wealth. We want to show that villages are not places of the past, but living laboratories where it is possible to build a more sustainable, fair and humane future. Through our work with young people, our main objective is to foster their roots, initiative and active participation in the rural environment, connecting them with traditional knowledge and more conscious and sustainable ways of life. To this end, we offer practical, intergenerational and creative experiences that allow them to recognise the value of the rural environment as a space for living, innovation and entrepreneurship. In turn, the project aims to give young participants the opportunity to learn traditional crafts and techniques (regenerative agriculture, basket weaving, pottery, beekeeping, artisan baking, etc.) and explore them as possible career paths, life projects or replicable educational resources (such as games, workshops or active methodologies) that youth workers can use in their own contexts to motivate other young people. The project also seeks to establish links with older people in their communities, reviving the transmission of knowledge and fostering relationships of care and respect between generations, and to identify experiences of rural youth entrepreneurship that serve as inspiring references.
