Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to enable young people to transform their existing awareness of environmental issues into effective, strategic and sustainable digital actions. Although young people today are aware of global issues such as the climate crisis, loss of biodiversity, overconsumption and environmental pollution, they do not always have the necessary digital tools, knowledge and skills to transform this awareness into strong advocacy at an individual and societal level. Our project aims to address this gap by empowering young people to become conscious, equipped, and active environmental advocates in the digital age. From a youth work practice perspective, the project will offer a holistic learning experience encompassing media literacy, digital storytelling, campaign design, environmental communication, and critical thinking skills. Thus, young people will learn to use social media not only as a means of personal expression but also as a platform for creating social change and raising awareness about environmental issues. In this process, they will gain digital resilience against misleading environmental content and be able to produce reliable and ethical digital content. The main objectives of the project include enabling young people to use digital media tools creatively and strategically for environmental advocacy, training ‘ecofluencers’ who can run effective and long-term impactful campaigns on social media, and increasing solidarity through intercultural learning based on common European values on environmental issues. In this way, youth work will strengthen not only individual competencies but also collaborative creation, cooperation, participatory democracy, and active citizenship skills. Ultimately, this project aims to lay the foundations for a youth movement that transcends local boundaries, is visible in digital spaces, and can create sustainable impact. One of the project's most important outcomes will be for young people to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advocate for the environment both within their own communities and on an international scale.
