Objectives

The Mindful Nature project aims to work with young people on mental health and self-awareness, which can sometimes be difficult to achieve during adolescence. The main motivation behind this project, led by Alguazas Town Council, is to promote concepts such as resilience and personal wellbeing among young people through connection with nature and experiential learning. Through working with young people, the project aims to achieve several objectives: 1. Promote mental health and self-awareness by creating safe spaces where young people can express themselves and reflect on their lives without feeling judged. 2. Apply non-formal education methodologies (mindfulness, artistic activities, cooperative games) to develop young people's emotional awareness. 3. Use experiential learning in nature to foster emotional balance and self-awareness. 4. Encourage international cooperation and intercultural learning by promoting the exchange of experiences on how people live and take care of their health in different countries. 5. Organise group dynamics that strengthen empathy, respect and solidarity among participants from different cultures. 6. Enhance emotional intelligence and self-reflection by creating spaces for introspection where participants can reflect on their emotions and behaviours. 7. Apply experiential learning methodologies that engage the mind, body and environment. 8. Foster the ability to face personal challenges in a conscious and balanced way. 9. Promote the inclusion and participation of young people with fewer opportunities by ensuring access for young people with economic, emotional and/or social difficulties. 10. Foster connection with nature as an educational and therapeutic tool. In summary, the Mindful Nature project, promoted by the Alguazas Town Council, represents a comprehensive and transformative initiative that seeks to strengthen mental health and self-awareness in young people through innovative and experiential methodologies. Through connection with nature, experiential learning and non-formal education, safe and inclusive spaces are created where young people can explore their emotions, develop their emotional intelligence and build relationships based on empathy, respect and solidarity. In addition, the project's intercultural and inclusive approach ensures an enriching and accessible experience for all participants, promoting a more conscious, resilient and balanced youth.
