With this project, the level of awareness of young people about mental health will be increased and awareness of the concept of mental well-being will be developed. Mental health problems such as anxiety, stress, loneliness and depression, which are among the most common problems faced by young people today, seriously affect both individual development and social participation. Based on this point, the project will be structured in a way to enable young people to recognise and express their emotions, learn support mechanisms and strengthen their mental resilience. During the project, participants will recognise the factors affecting mental health, learn about common conditions such as anxiety and depression, and learn healthy coping methods in practice. In addition, through workshops on topics such as psychological first aid, self-compassion, emotional awareness, stress management, young people will develop their skills to protect their mental health at both individual and social levels. The project will provide a safe space where young people can learn in solidarity with their peers while supporting their mental well-being. In terms of youth work, our project will be based on young people learning not only through knowledge but also through experience. To this end, experiential learning, emotional learning, role-playing, peer learning, self-assessment, creative drama and art-based techniques will be used. In this way, young people will both strengthen their ability to recognise and express their emotions and discover together ways of coping with stigma and prejudice in mental health. In addition, the project will be an important step towards reducing stigma and establishing healthy dialogue environments by enabling young people to openly discuss a topic such as mental health, which is often seen as a taboo subject. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate the perceptions towards mental health in their own countries, identify common problems and generate solutions. In this process, they will become more inclusive and conscious individuals by observing both their own cultural contexts and the approaches of other countries. As a result, this project will not only provide information on mental health, but will also enable young people to get to know themselves and others better, develop their emotional intelligence, establish healthy social relationships and gain awareness about accessing support mechanisms if necessary. These gains will contribute to the increase of mental health themed content in youth work, strengthening the equipment of youth workers in this field and supporting the participation of young people in society as healthier individuals.
