Nowadays. European youth face a growing challenge: dependence on the digital world and screens. The intensive use of social media, video games, and online entertainment platforms has increased significantly in recent years, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic. This phenomenon has direct consequences on young people's mental health, resulting in higher levels of anxiety, stress, lack of concentration, sleep problems, social isolation, and, in many cases, decreased self-esteem. Despite the magnitude of the problem, there are few specific educational spaces where young people can reflect, learn, and acquire practical strategies to manage their use of technology in a balanced way. Most training programs focus on digital skills but do not address the psychological and emotional impact that the digital world has on the daily lives of adolescents and young people. Furthermore, talking about mental health continues to be a topic surrounded by stigma and taboos. Many young people lack the necessary tools to express how they feel, identify symptoms of discomfort, or ask for help. This creates a gap in prevention and in the creation of safe environments for sharing experiences and developing resilience. The proposal also responds to the need for inclusion and equity. Young people from rural areas, with fewer economic opportunities, or with disabilities have less access to support resources for digital well-being and mental health. A youth exchange like this provides them with a space for active participation, where their integration is guaranteed and their experiences and perspectives are valued. Finally, this is a European and global issue. All partner countries recognize the effects of excessive screen use on their young people. Addressing this situation from a transnational perspective allows for the sharing of good practices, the generation of common solutions, and the strengthening of the sense of European citizenship. Ultimately, the proposal responds to the urgent need to support young people in building healthy digital habits, fostering their emotional well-being, and offering an intercultural learning environment that promotes inclusion, creativity, and youth empowerment.
