Objectives

Our training course, ‘Through the Prism of Media Literacy,’ seeks to equip 30 youth workers from nine European countries with the competences, tools, and confidence to use media as a force for inclusion, tolerance, and democratic engagement. In an age where young people are daily confronted with misinformation, stereotypes, and divisive narratives, the role of youth workers in guiding critical thinking and responsible media use has never been more important. This project will bridge the gap between the challenges of the digital era and the current capacities of youth workers, ensuring they can act as effective multipliers in their communities. The project’s objectives are to strengthen participants’ ability to critically analyse media content, identify bias, and understand how narratives shape public perception, especially around diversity and inclusion. We aim to develop their skills in designing and implementing media-based educational activities that foster dialogue, respect, and civic participation. By creating an intercultural learning space, the project will enable the exchange of good practices, the co-creation of inclusive narratives, and the building of long-term cooperation between organisations. From a youth work practice perspective, the training will not only enhance individual competences but also directly increase the quality, innovation, and outreach of participating organisations. It aligns with Erasmus+ priorities on inclusion & diversity, digital transformation, and participation in democratic life, while supporting the European Youth Goals on constructive dialogue, quality learning, and participation for all.
