The Regenerating Earth: Ways to Integrate Land-based practices into Daily Youth work (REWILD Youth) project seeks to respond to the rapidly changing realities faced by young people today, marked by rising levels of psychological, social, and ecological challenges. Youth workers are increasingly confronted with the need to address issues such as disconnection from nature, lack of resilience, ecological grief, social isolation, and reduced mental health among youth. The project’s main goal is to strengthen youth work practice by equipping youth workers with innovative, embodied, and ecocentric tools that integrate personal development with ecological awareness. By doing so, the project aims to improve the capacity of youth workers and organizations to create safe, inclusive, and transformative spaces for young people. Specific objectives are to: - Expand youth workers’ competences in applying nature-based, somatic, and reflective methodologies in their daily work. - Provide youth workers with a solid grounding in ecocentric psychology, deep ecology, and “The Work That Reconnects”, enabling them to address ecological grief and foster resilience among young people. - Enhance the ability of youth workers to support disadvantaged groups (youth with fewer opportunities, NEET, refugees, migrants) through innovative and inclusive practices. - Strengthen international cooperation, intercultural dialogue, and networks of youth workers, fostering peer-to-peer exchange and collective learning. - Promote innovation in youth work by introducing creative formats such as podcasting, storytelling, and the co-creation of digital learning tools. - Contribute to the recognition and visibility of youth work by aligning competences gained with frameworks like Youthpass and GreenComp (EU Sustainability Competence Framework). By investing in both the inner development of youth workers and their professional toolkit, the project aims to contribute to a broader shift in youth work toward holistic, sustainable, and future-oriented practices.
