Objectives

The project “Música con poco: community and expression” aims to turn music into an accessible, inclusive, and intercultural tool for youth work. Through this training course, we want to demonstrate that it is possible to create meaningful musical and educational experiences using simple and low-cost resources (the human body, the voice, recycled materials, or elements from nature), thus promoting creativity, cooperation, and social cohesion. From the perspective of youth work, our main objectives are: To democratize access to music education, showing that music can be learned and shared without the need for expensive instruments or elitist institutions. Youth workers will acquire tools and methodologies to design collective learning experiences open to all young people, regardless of their background or previous training. -To foster intercultural dialogue through music, using collective creation as a universal language that promotes empathy, mutual understanding, and cooperation among people from different cultures. -To explore new forms of community music-making, where traditional boundaries between performer and audience disappear, and music becomes a shared act of expression and connection. -To strengthen the competences of youth workers in non-formal education, creativity, inclusion, and intercultural learning, helping them to apply these approaches in their daily work with young people. -To promote inclusion and diversity in youth work, by providing methodologies that integrate participants with fewer opportunities (economic, social, cultural, or physical barriers) into creative processes where everyone has a voice. -To promote a sustainable and conscious approach to artistic education, linking creativity with environmental responsibility through the use of recycled and locally sourced materials. -Through this project, youth workers will learn how to facilitate participatory and accessible artistic spaces that foster expression, empowerment, and a sense of belonging. The training course will strengthen their ability to use music as a social and educational tool. Ultimately, “Música con poco: community and expression” seeks to empower youth workers to return to their organisations with new inclusive methodologies and a renewed belief in the power of creativity and collaboration as drivers of social change.
