Entrepreneurial learning - entrepreneurship educationInclusion of marginalised young people

Objectives

The aim of the youth exchange is to offer young people living in rural areas the opportunity to grow, learn, and build international networks. This two-part exchange encourages young people to believe in their own potential and strengthens their entrepreneurial mindset. The objectives are to enhance young people's ability to lead themselves, work in groups, influence their communities, and recognize the opportunities that rural areas offer. The first exchange focuses on personal growth, well-being, and entrepreneurial thinking, while the second exchange shifts the emphasis to collaboration, active participation, and the development of communication skills. In both exchanges, young people gain intercultural understanding, strengthen their language skills, and receive concrete tools for building their future. The two-part exchange, implemented in both Finland and Romania, brings depth, continuity, and diversity to the learning process. When young people meet in two different cultural and geographical environments, they have the opportunity to explore the same themes—such as entrepreneurship, participation, and well-being—from different perspectives. This strengthens their understanding of how local conditions affect young people's opportunities and how shared solutions can be developed through international cooperation. During the project, participants will encounter new cultures, which gives them the chance to explore the unfamiliar and create new networks—especially important from an entrepreneurial perspective. New connections across Europe also play a key role in strengthening a shared European identity. Through the youth exchange, participants' language skills will also improve. This is the best possible way to strengthen language proficiency—through real-life situations. Young people have been involved in the planning of the project from the very beginning. They have participated in brainstorming, selecting themes, and building the program through Teams meetings, emails, and in-person gatherings. They have influenced the content of the workshops, the choice of visits, and the implementation of the project. During the exchanges, young people act as active participants and lead some of the workshops themselves. They document their learning using platforms like Padlet and contribute to the project’s communication, for example, on Instagram. After the exchanges, they take part in writing the final report and sharing the results in their own communities—at schools, workplaces, with families and friends. The role of young people in the project is central—they are not just participants, but also planners, implementers, and communicators. This strengthens their sense of ownership and gives them the opportunity to influence both their own and their community’s future.
