Objectives

The “E.C.O-Move” project aims to address a series of needs identified among young people, particularly in the current European context, which is marked by textile overconsumption, a lack of information about the origin of clothing, and a widespread disinterest in the environmental and social consequences of fast fashion. This project is conceived as a complementary follow-up to the youth exchange “E.C.O-Fashion: Ecology, Citizenship and Opportunities for a New Fashion”, organized by Vision M in September 2024. That previous project explored the links between fashion, ecology and civic engagement, and highlighted the strong need expressed by the young participants to further deepen these topics, especially through more practical, inclusive and accessible approaches. * Specific objectives: - Strengthen young people’s environmental awareness of the ecological impact of the textile industry and encourage the adoption of responsible behaviors related to consumption and clothing reuse. - Develop creative and innovative skills among participants by engaging them in designing and testing new sports activities that integrate messages about sustainable fashion. - Foster intercultural cooperation and teamwork through workshops and sports challenges that allow participants to share perspectives and solutions on sustainability in fashion. - Enhance critical thinking and reflection on clothing consumption choices by integrating debates that directly link young people’s daily practices with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 8, 12 and 13. - Encourage civic engagement and dissemination by involving young people in creating tangible outputs (a booklet and a video) to raise awareness in their communities about the link between sport, fashion and the environment. - Promote the Erasmus+ programme and its opportunities among young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, in order to strengthen their involvement in European projects. This KA152 project will foster deep awareness while promoting peer-to-peer interaction, cultural diversity, and education for environmental citizenship. It builds on an already established European dynamic and actively contributes to shaping a new generation that is more responsible, supportive, and engaged in ethical and sustainable fashion.
