Objectives

As education, sport, and social activities today offer young people opportunities for career development and a meaningful life, physical activity is declining and obesity rates are rising due to the impact of technology. According to World Health Organization data, overweight and obesity rates have rapidly increased among children and adolescents, with 390 million children and adolescents aged 5 to 19 identified as overweight in 2022. While traditional educational methods separate physical activities from the learning process starting in primary school, it has been observed that supporting psychomotor memory through physical activities strengthens learning and memory. Therefore, sports-based education encourages deep learning by offering movement-oriented and more diverse learning methods for young people overwhelmed with information. The project "Move to Learn" aims to support both the physical and mental health of young people and deepen their learning through sports-based methods within their informal learning processes. The Nova Sports Group and AGIC provide methodological contributions to the project, while HYPESOUL+ and Better Future for Youth support the dissemination of this model with approaches that increase motivation and engagement. Key objectives of the project: To introduce young people to the concept of sports-based education. To introduce game-based learning methods using sports techniques and methodologies. To encourage group-based learning with a similar approach. To apply team-based learning methodology with sports techniques. To support inclusive education activities through sports-based methods. To enhance understanding of EU integration processes by introducing EU sports and education policies.
