Objectives

The "Circus Lights Against Addiction" project aims to empower young people through circus arts as a creative and engaging tool for addiction prevention. By implementing this project, we seek to: Raise awareness about substance abuse among young people and promote healthy alternatives through nonformal education. We equip participants and group leaders with circus based prevention tools and peer education skills (the Handbook makes the approach reusable by youth workers after the exchange). Foster personal development by helping participants build self confidence, teamwork, resilience, and emotional regulation through physical movement and performance arts. Promote social inclusion by involving young people from diverse backgrounds, including those from marginalized communities and those affected by addiction related challenges. Encourage intercultural dialogue and cooperation by bringing together youth from France, Turkey, Poland, and Ukraine to share perspectives on addiction prevention and youth empowerment. From a youth work perspective, the project will provide participants with practical tools, creative methods, and leadership opportunities to actively contribute to their communities. The main project outcome, the "Fighting Addiction with Circus Lights" Handbook, will serve as a long-term resource for youth, youth organizations, schools, and social workers across Europe.
