Objectives

Our project is not just an exchange; it's a hands-on learning experience designed to prepare them to be active citizens in their own communities and in Europe. Our main objective is to provide a unique opportunity for young people who face geographical, social, and economic barriers. We want to show them that they are part of a larger, interconnected Europe and that their voices matter. Here are the specific objectives of our project from a youth work perspective: We want to help young participants see themselves as active citizens of Europe. By working together on a shared topic like climate change, they will see that their local concerns are connected to a bigger, European issue. This experience will make the idea of Europe feel more real and personal to them. The core of our project is to compare the strategies of resilience to climate change in our two regions. By visiting local projects and talking with experts and officials, the young people will learn about different ways to deal with the same problem. This will give them a deeper understanding of how their own region's approach compares to another and will spark new ideas. Through a variety of interactive activities, we aim to strengthen essential skills in every young person. These skills include teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. By facing challenges together, they will learn how to work with people from different backgrounds and find solutions to real problems. We will empower our young people to become leaders and ambassadors in their own communities. The project is a stepping stone for them to get more involved in their local groups, such as the Doubs Youth Council and the Celje Youth Center, and to take on new roles at a regional and European level. We will help the participants break down barriers and build bridges with their peers from another country. By living and working together, they will develop a better understanding of different cultures, which will lead to long-lasting friendships and a new global perspective.
