Objectives

FORK IN PROGRESS...! From seed to stomach, from local to international, a collective adventure around food: from production to consumption, we will explore different facets of this theme, in close connection with the rural area that welcomes us. This exchange of young people aged 18 to 30, as part of Erasmus+, plans to bring together four groups from four countries (France/Meuse, Italy, Portugal, and Greece): it will be coordinated by one local coordinator, supported by two facilitators who have already collaborated on several similar projects. In terms of content, a variety of participatory workshops will be organized around this theme, with a focus on the link with the inhabitants of Dompcevrin and the surrounding area: meetings with local producers, practical workshops related to cooking (processing raw products, fermentation, specific techniques, etc.), debates using non-formal education methods (reflections on production methods, consumption channels, from local to international). From the collective needs analysis, three cross-cutting and complementary objectives emerged, which we used as a basis for co-constructing our 15-day educational program: • Develop collective thinking about food, combining social, cultural, ecological, economic, and political dimensions. • Inspire or rekindle a desire to cook and the joy of sharing through culinary practices. • Create a rich intercultural exchange between the local population and young Europeans, using food and conviviality as a basis for encounters and exchanges. We will therefore seek to achieve our objectives by moving back and forth between theory (reflecting on and sharing our experiences and worldviews) and practice (working together and experimenting in a concrete way, with support and the freedom to make mistakes), while allowing the group of young people to be rooted in their host environment, a place for experimentation and exchange.
