The project “YOU_LEAD_Vol. 2” builds on the 2025 success in Cyprus with 30 youth, which significantly impacted inclusion: 3 participants from disadvantaged backgrounds secured jobs (one in their field, one in a museum, one launched a business), 2 joined the French Army, 1 accepted for a European Commission traineeship, and 3 reshaped their academic paths. Over half continued engaging in European initiatives, and ⅓ joined the Young Ambassadors program. Two entrepreneurial projects emerged, 6 videos about European engagement reached 500+ live viewers and 20,000 online, and one participant created an artistic exhibition in France. Two local cooperations were initiated: a France-like civic service pilot in Cyprus involving 20 people for a year, and two approved European projects creating an e-learning platform on autonomy and leadership. Cooperation continues with the French Embassy and local authorities. All 30 participants earned Youthpass and HRDA professional certificates, with 85% Youth With Fewer Opportunities (YWFO), including migrants, refugees, school dropouts, a disabled person, and a trans person. YOU_LEAD_Vol. 2 will train 40 youth (≥50% YWFO: 10 French, 10 other Europeans, 10 Cypriots, 5 Polish, 5 Italian) in European values, employability, and sustainability, transforming them into civic actors able to replicate initiatives locally and nationally. The program expands the French-Cyprus cooperation to more Member States, with Italian and Polish youth NGOs participating. It emphasizes intercultural connection and peacebuilding, with outdoor actions, field visits, and engagement with local sustainability efforts, aligned with Cyprus EU Presidency 2026. Partners include the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute and a 20-volunteer civic service team for sustainability actions. Youth will be trained in structured sessions, workshops, SME visits, fisheries, farms, agri-food, vegetable growing, and solar energy, often co-managed by local youth. The project addresses EU priorities: climate-neutral economy by 2050, resilient agriculture, biodiversity, and European values promotion, including lessons from Cyprus’ history. Digital skills are integrated via video production, social media, and AI tools (Canva, LinkedIn). Employability support includes mentoring, CV writing, mock interviews, Youthpass, and HRDA certification. Participants engage in Europe Day and Cyprus Presidency activities, interacting with local authorities, UN staff, and public audiences, reinforcing civic engagement and EU values. The approach is peer-led, with youth animating daily sessions. Activities include teamwork, role-playing, ecological practices, traditional dance, digital tools, Europass and Youthpass introduction, nonviolent communication, video production, project design, EU funding exploration, group challenges, and linguistic icebreakers. Expected skills include digital and intercultural communication, public engagement, critical thinking, creativity, cultural heritage awareness, teamwork, civic engagement, European values, and networking, with support for job market integration. Expected results: 100% receive Youthpass with ≥5 validated skills and VET certificate; 100% attend mock interviews and complete personalized career pathways; all YWFO receive one-to-one tutoring during and 2 months after the project; 80% of YWFO seeking work enroll in employment or studies within 3 months; 100% get updated CVs and employment contacts; 100% understand recycling and sustainability; 80% create an online professional profile; 75% post on social media about social/environmental issues; 70% create a YouTube channel with ≥3 videos promoting the project; ≥100 locals reached during visibility actions with media coverage. A 3-month follow-up will assess skill application in jobs, civic service, or volunteering.
