The main objective of the project Bodies in Migration is to strengthen the skills of youth workers supporting young migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, through the transmission and appropriation of tools from dance therapy and art therapy. More specifically, the project aims to support the well-being and emotional regulation of young people by providing youth workers with creative and body-based methods adapted to their needs. The project promotes inclusion and diversity awareness within youth work practices in several complementary ways. First, through non-verbal approaches, it helps overcome linguistic and cultural barriers, providing young people with more direct access to expression and participation. Second, it encourages reflection on creating safe, welcoming, and genuinely inclusive spaces, adapted to diverse groups who may have been affected by traumatic experiences. Finally, the project invites participants to reflect on their professional posture as facilitators, enriching their practice and fostering a more conscious, reflective, and inclusive approach. The project supports the appropriation of tools through practice. Participants will directly experience the workshops by taking on the role of facilitators, thereby strengthening their skills in facilitation, listening, and group management. Co-facilitating workshops in an international context will also allow them to learn how to work with participants from varied cultural backgrounds, while developing a European network of committed practitioners to exchange good practices and co-construct innovative and inclusive approaches.
