Objectives

The “Agroecology for Youth in the Mediterranean Region” project, led by Terre & Humanisme (T&H), draws on the organization's expertise in training trainers in agroecological practices. Indeed, in implementing this project, T&H's main objective is to train youth workers from its partners around the Mediterranean to become key players in the agroecological transition. T&H will provide youth workers with the knowledge needed to transmit agroecology to young people. With a mastery of technical and practical skills, as well as the principles of agroecology, youth workers will be empowered to create collaborative learning environments where young people from different cultures can exchange ideas and work together on daily tasks. In practice, dedicated youth learning tools will be provided, allowing participating youth workers to integrate agroecology into their daily activities, teaching young people about food self-sufficiency and healthy lifestyles through practical activities. They will thus be able to lead discussions to raise awareness among young people about their relationship with nature and their role within ecosystems. Finally, the project aims to provide youth workers with sufficient knowledge to answer young people's questions about citizen initiatives in agroecology and inform them about societal transitions, taking into account specific national contexts.
