The project responds to the high share of young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) across Europe. In 2024 around 11 % of youth aged 15–29 were NEET, with higher rates in partner countries such as Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal and Türkiye. The war in Ukraine has exacerbated vulnerabilities; millions of young people have been displaced, face disrupted education and risk falling into NEET status. Despite the urgency of the issue, youth workers often lack the competences and tools to engage NEET youth effectively; they need practical methods in non‑formal learning, digital inclusion, psychosocial support and employability pathways. From a youth‐work perspective, the project aims to strengthen practitioners’ capacity to support NEET youth, particularly those affected by displacement and conflict, while ensuring inclusivity for all disadvantaged groups. Its objectives are to: - Capacity building of youth workers: provide them with innovative non-formal education tools, advocacy skills, and intercultural learning methods to effectively reach and empower NEET youth, including those facing gender, geographical or socio-economic barriers. -Improving school-to-work transitions: strengthen youth workers’ competences to guide young people through career orientation, skills recognition, and pathways into vocational training and employment, responding to structural mismatches identified across Europe. -Promoting inclusion and diversity: enable youth workers to create safe, accessible spaces that integrate marginalised groups (young women, refugees, minorities, rural youth), reducing inequalities and fostering solidarity. -Fostering digital and green competences: equip youth workers with strategies to use digital tools for participation, online activism, and employability, while embedding sustainability in youth work practice. -Encouraging European cooperation and values: develop transnational networks among youth organisations so that youth workers act as multipliers of European values, democratic participation, and social innovation in their communities. By investing in the professional development of youth workers, the project enhances the quality and impact of youth work, contributes to the EU target of reducing the NEET rate below 9% by 2030, and ensures that youth workers are better prepared to empower disadvantaged youth towards active citizenship, education, and employment.
