This project was initiated directly by young basketball players and volunteers from Mayotte who, after their sporting and community achievements, expressed their desire to take part in a European mobility experience. Living in an outermost region far from European institutions, these young people wish to discover Europe in a concrete way, to develop their active citizenship and to represent Mayotte in an international framework. The main objectives are: Empower young people as actors, by allowing them to design, organise and represent their territory as “ambassadors”. Strengthen their European citizenship, critical thinking and understanding of institutions. Promote inclusion, by offering opportunities to young people facing economic, social or educational obstacles, ensuring participation without discrimination. Develop transferable skills (communication, intercultural, digital, organisational) that are useful for their future.
