Objectives

The Big Week is a civic participation project bringing together 24 young people from France and Germany around the issues of sustainable tourism between the twin cities of Besançon and Freiburg. Through collaborative journalistic work, they produce a bilingual eco-friendly guide highlighting local initiatives and serving as a basis for civic dialogue, as well as an open-source tutorial video outlining the project’s steps so other young people can replicate it. The project takes place in three phases: - Preparation: training in journalism and sustainable tourism. - Mobilities: exploring the territories, conducting field investigations, producing articles and multimedia content. - Restitution: round tables with local decision-makers to share results and consider duplication. Objective: to raise awareness and involve young people in local decision-making, while strengthening Franco-German cooperation and promoting inclusive, responsible tourism.
