Conflicts, misunderstandings, and exclusion are common challenges in youth work, often leading to tension and communication barriers between young people and those who support them. Many youth workers lack concrete tools to address these situations constructively, which can result in unresolved conflicts and weaker relationships. This project responds to a concrete gap in youth work practice, where conflict management and communication skills are often underdeveloped despite being crucial for creating safe and inclusive learning spaces. The main goal of the project ''From Conflict to Connection: Non-Violent Communication for Youth Workers'' is to strengthen the capacities of youth workers and organizations to apply Non-Violent Communication (NVC) methods in daily practice. By focusing on NVC techniques, the project equips youth workers with concrete tools such as active listening, empathy, and constructive dialogue methods. These skills will help them handle tensions in youth groups, support young people in expressing their needs without aggression, guide conflict resolution processes, and foster relationships based on trust and mutual respect. The training will bring together participants from Croatia, Estonia, North Macedonia, Italy, Spain, Serbia, Turkey, and Germany. The main objectives of ''From Conflict to Connection: Non-Violent Communication for Youth Workers'' are: - To raise awareness among youth workers and organisations of the importance of non-violent communication in youth work. - To share practices from participating countries related to conflict transformation, dialogue facilitation, and violence prevention. - To increase the competencies of youth workers in using NVC methods (active listening, I-messages, empathy) when working with young people. - To reflect on the practices of participating organisations and explore approaches for creating safe, inclusive, and dialogue-based environments for young people. - To provide participants with opportunities to develop new initiatives and projects addressing conflicts and communication challenges faced by young people. - To organize a discussion “Bridges of Communication” in each participating country (online or offline), open to young people from local communities, to raise awareness of the value of dialogue and NVC. - To gather and disseminate the good practices explored during the project through an NVC Handbook for Youth Workers.
