Objectives

With the implementation of this project, we aim to provide young people with a complex learning process that places at its core the deepening of democratic awareness, the development of active citizenship, and the understanding of the importance of participation in elections. Our goal is for young people to recognize that as responsible citizens, they not only have the opportunity but also the duty to shape the future of their communities, their region, and Europe as a whole. As youth workers, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where young people can learn through experience. The three interlinked youth exchanges form a coherent learning pathway that gradually leads participants from local community involvement to regional, national, and European-level civic engagement. Experiential methods – simulations, debates, creative workshops, interviews, and collective productions – enable young people to start from their own experiences and, through collaboration, shape their perspectives and competences. Throughout the program, participants will discover how democratic participation and active presence in elections connect directly to their everyday lives. Through role-plays and simulations, they will experiment with democratic decision-making; in debates and value-scale exercises, they will practice how to present their views convincingly while listening to and respecting others’ arguments. Each element of the process supports them in becoming more conscious of their civic rights and responsibilities, particularly regarding participation in elections. Young people are not only beneficiaries but active shapers of the program: they bring in their own experiences, co-create rules, make collective decisions, and design joint initiatives. This ensures that the learning process is not theoretical but grounded in lived experience, fostering both individual and collective development. The Youthpass framework accompanies the mobility activities, allowing participants to reflect on their learning outcomes along the eight key competences and to integrate these achievements into their personal, community, and professional lives in the long term. The long-term impact of the project lies in enabling participants not only to engage actively within the program itself but also to become catalysts of change in their own communities. They will learn how to pass on the knowledge gained, how to mobilize their peers, and how to build sustainable youth networks. In this way, the project generates results beyond its immediate duration and contributes to the development of a more democratic, participatory society. Project objectives: O1. Young people become more aware of the importance of democracy, active citizenship, and participation in elections, particularly in shaping the future of their own communities. O2. Young people develop key competences – critical thinking, communication, self-expression, advocacy, and cooperation – through non-formal learning methods and peer-to-peer exchange. O3. Young people gain experience in various forms of community participation at local, national, and European levels, and practice how to represent their views in dialogue with decision-makers. O4. Young people jointly synthesize the experiences gained during the three exchanges and create a “Youth Participation Toolkit” that provides inspiration and practical methods for other young people and organizations. O5. Young people build lasting, cross-border youth networks that foster long-term cooperation and the development of new joint initiatives. O6. Young people learn to design and implement concrete community events and activities.
