Objectives

The aim of the project is to support young people in becoming active, responsible European citizens, while tangibly enhancing the quality and capacity of local youth work in line with the EU’s core values (democracy, equality, human rights) and youth priorities (participation, inclusion, green and digital transition). The implementation is centered around non-formal learning: young people develop their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and digital competences in a safe and supportive environment. This not only increases their civic engagement but also strengthens their employability within everyday youth work practices. A key objective is inclusion: actively involving and supporting young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring that the program becomes a real opportunity for youth services operating in local communities. At the same time, the project promotes youth participation and active engagement in democratic life (critical thinking, media literacy, dialogue with decision-makers), which directly aligns with the daily practices and toolkit of quality youth work. Experiencing intercultural dialogue and “unity in diversity” in an engaging way helps dismantle stereotypes and strengthens European identity, which in the long term enhances the openness and networking of local youth initiatives. The project also aims to practically integrate the green and digital transition into everyday youth work: by promoting sustainable travel, responsible procurement, and paperless operation, while using digital collaboration tools and methods to ensure long-term modernization of professional practices. The development of local youth work is supported through capacity-building elements (method sharing, networking, collaboration), in line with the “Europe Goes Local” approach and the principles of the European Charter on Local Youth Work, which strengthen the quality and transparency of municipal youth practices. Learning outcomes are made visible and recognized through the Youthpass, supporting the formal articulation and transfer of competences to the fields of education, employment, and civic engagement – thereby increasing the everyday credibility and measurability of youth work.
