Our main goal in implementing this project is to ensure that, by the end of it, most—if not all—participants will have a clear understanding of the importance of empathy, be able to express it effectively, and demonstrate that they value its role in building healthy and inclusive societies. The participants in this project will be the main beneficiaries of the learning attached to this project but we also envision that all young people engaged will become advocates for empathy as a vital value and promote it as a key emotional and social skill to their peers and local community. This is a European intercultural project and therefore we also want young people to have intercultural experiences. This will be done by engaging in workshops and cultural evenings with their European peers. By the end of the project we feel young people will have a greater connection and understanding of their European identity. They will be more connected to European values such as solidarity and active citizenship. Participants will be in a greater position to practice higher levels of compassion and empathy and challenge in a more critical manner issues connected to misinformation and prejudices etc. Participants from 3 different European countries will together make a toolkit which will promote empathy and the values connected to being a European citizen.
