Objectives

This youth-led project addresses rising youth crime among youths including marginalized groups, linked to systemic gaps like lack of early support and accessible information as our 2024 research shows. Many young migrants feel unprepared for life in rural Cork, facing social exclusion, economic hardship, and harmful online influences. Our objectives are to empower migrant youth to participate in civic life, raise awareness of European values and rights, improve digital literacy to combat misinformation, and foster dialogue between youth, parents, and policymakers for inclusive community youth policies. We aim to enable all young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, to engage meaningfully in society. The project aligns with Ireland’s Roadmap for Social Inclusion, National Youth Strategy, Migrant Integration Strategy, and EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, contributing to UN SDGs on quality education and reduced inequalities through non-formal learning and social inclusion.
