Across Europe, especially in Italy, young people who are not in education, employment, or training (NEETs) continue to face serious barriers to personal and professional growth. High unemployment rates, limited access to career guidance, and the increasing influence of gambling are just some of the challenges they face daily. In 2024, Italy recorded a youth unemployment rate of 19.2% (ages 15–24), and 16.1% of young people aged 15–29 were identified as NEETs. At the same time, the country ranks among the highest in Europe for gambling-related spending, which particularly affects young people in vulnerable situations. These are not just numbers; they represent a growing group of young individuals who feel stuck, overlooked, and uncertain about their future. Career Key: Skills, Awareness, and Action is designed with this reality in mind. Our approach goes beyond simply helping NEETs find employment. It focuses on empowering them to recognise their potential, address harmful behaviours such as gambling, and develop the practical skills needed to actively shape their future. At the same time, the project promotes social inclusion by strengthening the role of youth in their communities and ensuring that no one is excluded from opportunities for growth and participation. Our objectives are: * To raise awareness among participants and youth workers about the real struggles NEETs face. * To co-create useful tools and learning activities that help NEETs boost their career skills and confidence. * To talk openly about gambling and its risks, and support young people in making healthier choices. * To push for better systems and policies that support NEETs and protect them from exploitation. * To connect different youth organisations and share good practices on how to work with NEETs effectively. * To give participants practical methods to guide and mentor NEETs in their local communities. * To promote digital skills as key tools for NEETs' personal and professional growth. * To inspire new collaborations and ideas that will lead to more youth projects focusing on employment and inclusion. * To spread the word through creative campaigns and peer-to-peer learning, so the message reaches as many young people as possible. * To show young people what Erasmus+ can offer them—and how it can be a turning point in their lives. With this project, we aim to shift that reality. We’re not just offering a program—we’re creating a clear and practical path for NEETs to reconnect with their potential, step into new opportunities, and take control of their future with confidence.
