The objectives of Sapori che Uniscono are rooted in youth work principles that place young people at the center as active agents of their own learning. The project creates safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces where food — understood as a universal language — becomes a tool for intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, and social innovation. From the perspective of youth work practice, the objectives are: Foster intercultural sensitivity and understanding: Immerse participants in diverse culinary traditions to stimulate empathy, cultural curiosity, and open-mindedness. Challenge stereotypes and prejudices by sharing recipes, cultural stories, and the symbolic meanings of food, humanizing others and building common ground. Connect to historical practices where food acted as a peace-building tool (e.g., breaking bread together, diplomatic banquets). Promote inclusion and valorization of diversity: Create an inclusive environment for young people with fewer opportunities, NEETs, migrants, and marginalized communities. Empower these groups by giving visibility to their culinary contributions and cultural stories. Build participants’ confidence to express and promote their own identities through food. Strengthen personal, social, and professional competences: Enhance communication, teamwork, and cooperation skills through collaborative workshops and intercultural activities. Encourage youth leadership: each national team will facilitate workshops and cultural evenings, experiencing themselves as peer leaders. Use reflective tools (digital journal, Youthpass) to promote self-awareness, self-assessment, and personal growth. Educate on sustainability and responsible lifestyles: Introduce concrete practices such as zero food waste, recycling, and creative use of leftovers. Connect everyday habits to the Sustainable Development Goals (especially SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13 – Climate Action). Encourage sustainable daily practices (using water bottles, sorting waste, reducing consumption). Boost creativity and digital competences: Develop a Multimedia Digital Cookbook, organized by ingredients and cooking techniques, to highlight both the universal and diverse aspects of culinary traditions. Produce podcast storytelling sessions linking food with personal stories, emphasizing emotional and historical contexts. Strengthen digital competences through collaborative tools (Padlet, Trello, MURAL), podcasting, and creative social content (video pills for Instagram and TikTok). Promote active citizenship and European values: Empower young people to understand their role as active citizens able to create positive change at local and European levels. Link the exchange experience to EU core values such as tolerance, diversity, solidarity, and democracy. Ensure long-term impact through follow-up activities (local workshops, exhibitions, digital food challenges). Enhance knowledge of Erasmus+ and Youthpass: Familiarize participants with Erasmus+ opportunities and motivate them to act as ambassadors of the program among their peers. Introduce Youthpass not just as a certificate but as a living tool for reflection and competence recognition, useful for future education, employment, and civic engagement. Encourage participants to develop their own future Erasmus+ mobilities and youth initiatives.
