Objectives

The youth exchange “Mountains and Climate Change: Adapting for a Sustainable Future” will take place in Prea (Italy) from 11 to 18 July 2026. It aims to raise awareness among young people about the impact of climate change in mountain areas, highlighting their role in biodiversity conservation and the benefits of high-altitude living. The project involves 36 participants from Italy, Croatia, Spain, Poland, Ireland, and Austria in a rural mountain context. Main objectives: -Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices; -Reconnect youth with nature through educational and hands-on activities; -Develop skills and knowledge on climate adaptation and innovative solutions; -Foster intercultural exchange and community involvement (e.g. volunteering, clean-ups); -Encourage local follow-up events within three months after the exchange. The project contributes to the European Youth Strategy Goals 6, 10 and 11 by supporting rural youth, encouraging a sustainable green Europe, and fostering participation in European programmes. Project management is led by Flow APS, ensuring quality, transparency, and inclusive governance according to Erasmus+ standards. Through direct engagement with the local community, the project will have a positive and tangible impact on the area, raising environmental awareness, promoting ecotourism, and equipping young participants with tools to become change-makers for sustainability.
