The project “Waves of Peace: Youth Changing Tomorrow” arises from the urgent need to bring peace back to the heart of young people’s daily lives – not only as an abstract or ideological concept, but as a concrete practice expressed through gestures, language, and everyday choices of coexistence. It will involve 40 young people from Italy, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, and Spain, offering them an intercultural and transformative experience aimed at encouraging a new culture of peace and preventing conflicts through dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation. The international context – marked by the war in Ukraine, the tensions in Donbass, and the annexation of Crimea – has highlighted the necessity of empowering young people as active protagonists of reconciliation and non-violence. Yet, these challenges are not limited to Ukraine: across Europe, young people face social tensions, inequalities, and latent conflicts that threaten cohesion and trust. In this scenario, the project positions itself as a laboratory of experimentation: a space where youth can imagine and implement a peaceful revolution in social behaviors, digital communication, and everyday relationships. The strength of this initiative lies in creating a new narrative: young people no longer as passive observers of conflict, but as builders of peace. Through peer education, role-playing, team building, and problem-solving activities – guided by a youth psychologist and an experienced youth worker – participants will learn to transform ideas and experiences into creative and practical actions. Using open-source digital tools such as Canva, they will co-create the Youth Peace Manifesto, a collective illustrated document that will express their values and proposals, to be shared in schools and local communities during the dissemination phase. International partners, with solid experience in Erasmus+ projects and youth exchanges, will play a key role from the preparatory stage: they will carefully select group leaders, sign clear agreements on budget and responsibilities, and provide each participant with a complete info pack. Emergency contacts and safety protocols will also be set up to ensure participants feel secure and supported throughout the process. In summary, “Waves of Peace: Youth Changing Tomorrow” seeks to provide young people with the skills, tools, and confidence to address conflicts constructively while promoting a culture of peace in their communities. Through creativity and collective engagement, the project will generate a lasting impact, transforming participants into genuine peace ambassadors for the Europe of tomorrow.
