The DIGITAL GUARDIANS project aims to empower young people to navigate and transform digital environments, combating disinformation and extremism. The main objectives are to provide 40 young people from Italy, Spain, Turkey and Serbia with critical skills and practical tools to identify, challenge and act against extremist narratives online, promoting critical citizenship and the collaborative creation of open educational resources. The project seeks to go beyond traditional training, transforming young people into active agents who, through ethical artificial intelligence, collaborative creativity and the values of global citizenship, build concrete alternatives to online extremism. Specific objectives include deepening knowledge about disinformation and digital extremism, developing technical skills for verifying information with AI, promoting attitudes of tolerance and civic participation, certifying key competences (Youthpass) and co-creating a guide to identifying disinformation on social media through the use of AI.
