Objectives

"OrienPEER" is a project aimed at providing young people with environmental sustainability skills through outdoor education, exploring the learning dimensions of orienteering. The project aims to achieve the following objectives: - The involvement of 30 young people from six international countries in a Youth Exchange organized in the Italian mountains, where participants will have the opportunity to develop a greater awareness of their surroundings, learn to respect natural resources, and experience firsthand the value of a sustainable lifestyle through orienteering activities. The experience will also offer young people the opportunity to disconnect from digital devices and reconnect with themselves, their peers, and nature. - The cooperation of six international partners with experience in outdoor education, which will lead to the development of the "Erasmus+ Woodchuck Guidebook," a compendium of activities to help young people gain practical experience with environmental responsibility through the exploration of nature and outdoor spaces. The guidebook will include a section dedicated to the step-by-step organization of a youth orienteering activity. The Guidebook will be promoted internationally as a reference for sustainable activities, even for organizations unfamiliar with outdoor education. - The organization of six local youth orienteering events, one for each partner country, involving at least 12 young people aged 16 to 23 from each country, for a total of 72 young people. These events will provide an opportunity for young people from local communities to connect with nature, develop ecological skills, and experience a social adventure with peers they had never met before the event. - The international dissemination of an Online Treasure Hunt, which will guide young people in exploring natural sites in their local communities. The treasure hunt will include clues and challenges that can be replicated in different contexts. Young people participating in the Treasure Hunt will be invited to share their discoveries in Instagram Stories, tagging the project and the Erasmus+ programme.
