Objectives

The “We Are the Nature” project was born from the idea of a group of young people from Italy, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia, united by their passion for art, photography, and environmental protection. The countries involved, unfortunately, share increasingly urgent environmental challenges: heatwaves, wildfires, floods, air pollution, and waste accumulation, all of which threaten local communities and citizens’ health. Faced with these common problems, young people feel the need to come together and act, but often lack the spaces or tools to do so in a creative and effective way. The “We Are the Nature” project aims to respond to this need, using photography as a universal and immediate language, giving young people the opportunity to make their voices heard. In today’s digital era, where images have enormous impact and often go viral, photography and visual content are powerful tools to narrate environmental challenges, stimulate empathy, and inspire change. The objectives of the project are as follows: - Increase environmental awareness among young people, helping them to better understand the concrete impact of climate change and pollution on daily life, local communities, and our territories, while at the same time exploring sustainable solutions and realizing how small daily actions can generate a positive impact for the planet. - Create an inclusive and participatory space, which ensures gender equality at all stages and gives voice especially to young people with fewer opportunities, making them protagonists of a collective journey of reflection, creativity, and active citizenship. - Combine photography, art, and digital tools as innovative methods of non-formal education, to communicate complex issues in a clear, engaging, and emotional way, with a strong impact both on local communities and at the European level. - Stimulate critical thinking and intercultural dialogue, encouraging the exchange of experiences and ideas among young people from different countries, thus strengthening mutual learning and the awareness that environmental problems are global challenges to be faced together. - Guide young people towards concrete action, through follow-up and dissemination plans that will extend and amplify the impact of the project.
