The YoMove – Youth on the Move: Rights, Inclusion and Fraternity project aims to strengthen the role of young people as active participants in European society by offering them a non-formal education experience that fosters awareness, skills, and civic engagement. Its primary goal is to create an intercultural learning environment where young people from Italy, Romania, and Malta can develop personal and social skills, recognize the value of human rights, and experiment with concrete practices of inclusion. From a youth work perspective, YoMove addresses three key needs: - creating safe and inclusive spaces where young people can express themselves freely, discuss their differences, and overcome stereotypes and discrimination; - proposing innovative non-formal education methodologies that combine social theater, digital storytelling, group work, and daily reflection; - encouraging young people to take an active role in the community, transforming what they learn through exchange into concrete and lasting actions. The project's general objectives are: - Bring young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds together to reflect on discrimination, intolerance, and active citizenship. - Raise awareness of fundamental rights and democratic values as pillars of coexistence and collective well-being in Europe. - Promote inclusion and diversity, prioritizing the participation of young people with fewer opportunities. - Stimulate young people's ability to propose and implement local actions that have a concrete impact in their communities. The specific objectives, expressed in terms of youth work, include: - Foster the development of transversal skills (teamwork, communication, problem-solving, leadership); - Strengthen critical thinking and the ability to analyze fake news, stereotypes, and discriminatory dynamics; - Improve linguistic and digital skills through the use of English as a common language and online collaboration tools; - Strengthen environmental and digital awareness by integrating sustainable practices and accessible technological tools into all activities. During the exchange in Rome, young people will participate in intercultural workshops, simulations, role-playing games, and theater activities, all aimed at making learning experiential and participatory. Each day will include moments of guided reflection and self-assessment, transforming experiences into conscious skills. The expected impacts are multiple: - on a personal level, increased self-esteem, self-confidence, and the ability to express and manage emotions; - on a social level, the ability to cooperate with peers from other countries and develop attitudes based on empathy, solidarity, and mutual respect; - on a civic level, taking an active role in the life of local communities through the planning of micro-actions and the dissemination of results; - on an organizational level, enriching the partners' skills in youth work, with the opportunity to replicate the methodologies tested in other contexts. YoMove is also fully aligned with the cross-cutting priorities of Erasmus+: - Inclusion and diversity: ensured by the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and personalized support throughout the project. - Participation in democratic life: young people will be encouraged to critically discuss current issues and propose local initiatives. - Environmental sustainability: green practices will be prioritized (collective mobility, plastic reduction, use of recycled materials). Digital dimension: the use of online tools will foster preparation, remote collaboration, and the dissemination of results. In short, YoMove aims to empower young people in a process of personal and collective growth, strengthening the skills needed to live in a more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable European society. The project represents a concrete example of how youth work can combine non-formal education, interculturality, and civic engagement, transforming an Erasmus+ experience into a path of lasting social change.
