Objectives

The F.U.T.U.R.E. (Forging Unique Talents, Uniting Respect and Equality) Project is designed to empowering rural youth by fostering personal development, active citizenship, and social inclusion. Through non-formal education methods, participants will gain confidence, develop leadership skills, and enhance their employability. The project also aims to bridge rural-urban disparities by raising awareness of the challenges faced by rural youth and equipping them with practical tools to address these issues. By connecting participants with Erasmus+ program, it fosters international collaboration and expands their horizons beyond their local realities. Ultimately, this initiative supports inclusive youth work practices, ensuring that young people from underrepresented backgrounds have access to opportunities, resources, and networks that promote long-term positive change. The project also nurtures resilience, creativity, and a forward-looking mindset among participants, encouraging them to view challenges as opportunities for growth. By linking local experiences with European values, it demonstrates that rural territories can become laboratories of innovation and inclusion. Participants will not only improve their competences but will also act as ambassadors of change, bringing back new ideas, methods, and perspectives to their communities. Objectives of the Project from a Youth Work Perspective: 1. Empowering Rural Youth: Rural youth often face limited access to education, training, and job opportunities, which can lead to disengagement and migration to urban areas. This project aims to equip them with essential life skills, encouraging personal growth and selfdevelopment. Through interactive workshops, mentorship, and peer-to-peer learning, participants will gain confidence, set personal goals, and develop competencies that will help them become active members of their communities. 2. Promoting Social Inclusion and Intercultural Dialogue: One of the core aspects of this project is to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and respect. By creating a safe and inclusive space for dialogue, participants will have the chance to share their experiences, explore different cultures, and develop a sense of European identity. The activities will focus on breaking down stereotypes, enhancing tolerance, and promoting active citizenship, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued. 3. Encouraging Local Development and Entrepreneurship: Many young people in rural areas believe that their future lies in the cities, as rural communities often lack employment opportunities. This project seeks to challenge that perspective by highlighting the potential of rural areas for innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants will be introduced to entrepreneurial thinking, project management, and sustainable business development, helping them create new opportunities within their own communities. By encouraging young people to see the potential in their local areas, the project aims to reduce youth migration and promote long-term rural development. 4. Building Awareness of Rural-Urban Disparities: There is a significant gap between opportunities available in urban and rural areas, which often goes unnoticed. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and field visits, participants will explore the challenges faced by rural youth, such as limited access to education, infrastructure, and career opportunities. By raising awareness about these disparities at a local, national, and European level, the project will encourage young people to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote rural development and social equity. 5. Enhancing Participation in EU Programs: Many young people from rural areas are unaware of the opportunities offered by European initiatives, such as Erasmus+ and other youth mobility programs. This project will introduce them to these programs, providing them with practical knowledge on how to access funding, participate in exchanges, and engage with international networks. By connecting with peers from different countries, participants will broaden their perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of European cooperation, motivating them to become more actively involved in EU-funded opportunities. Expected Impact: By addressing these key objectives, the project will contribute to the empowerment of young people from rural areas, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become leaders of change. Participants will leave the project with a stronger sense of self, a better understanding of their role in society, and the motivation to create positive change in their local communities. Furthermore, the project will help bridge the gap between rural and urban youth, promote social inclusion, and foster active participation in European programs, ensuring long-term benefits for both the participants and their communities.
