The "Living Traditions: Youth, Culture, and Future" project aims to engage young people in the valorization of local traditions, while promoting the development of transversal skills, active participation, and intercultural awareness. The primary goal is to ensure participants understand the importance of cultural heritage as a living resource, capable of interacting with contemporary languages and needs, empowering them to play a leading role in its preservation and reinterpretation. Through an approach based on non-formal learning, young people will have the opportunity to actively participate in all phases of the project: from planning and preparation to implementation and follow-up, developing practical and behavioral skills essential for their personal and social growth. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which participants can explore and explore themes related to local culture, art, and history, learning to work in groups, take initiative, and manage concrete activities. Young people will be encouraged to share their ideas, contribute to the creation of digital and multimedia content, and organize workshops, cultural events, and creative activities that engage both their peers and the local community. In this way, learning goes beyond theoretical learning to become a concrete and meaningful experience, in line with the principles of youth work based on empowerment and active participation. Another key objective is the development of intercultural and social skills. Through exchanges with young people from other European countries, participants will have the opportunity to engage with diverse cultural realities, learning to respect differences, negotiate common solutions, and value diversity. This will foster a more open and inclusive vision of the world, increasing their ability to adapt and their global awareness. Furthermore, through the use of digital tools and social media to promote local traditions, young people will develop advanced digital and communication skills, useful both in education and in the workplace. The project also aims to foster a sense of active citizenship and social responsibility. Participants will engage in activities that reflect on the role of traditions in contemporary society, promoting inclusion, and breaking down gender stereotypes. Collaboration with local institutions, such as the Municipality of Castelpetroso and schools, and with cultural communities will enable young people to understand the importance of their contribution to community life, strengthening intergenerational connections and encouraging responsible and informed engagement. The project also aims to raise awareness among participants of their ability to positively impact the community. Through the creation of events, exhibitions, and performances, young people will have the opportunity to share the results of their work with the local community and international partners, developing leadership, project management, and public communication skills. The experience of co-creating content, from traditional music and dance to digital art and storytelling workshops, will foster self-confidence and strengthen personal and collective skills, transforming participants into agents of cultural change. Finally, the project aims to ensure the sustainability and long-term impact of its activities. Through follow-up and dissemination tools, such as post-project meetings, digital platforms, and multimedia publications, participants will be encouraged to maintain their interest in local traditions, sharing knowledge and experiences with new groups of young people. The goal is to create a lasting network of informed, competent, and committed young people capable of promoting local traditions and connecting them to the European and international dimension.
