Creativity, arts and cultureInclusion of marginalised young people

Objectives

In Europe, more than 90 million people are at risk of social exclusion. Among the most vulnerable groups are young people between the ages of 18 and 24. The causes can be diverse (economic, ethnic, gender, cultural, religious, sexual or political orientation, disability, etc.). Isolation and social exclusion can have a significant impact on the mental and physical health of young people, who may experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, a state of passivity and frustration. Our project aims to transform isolation into cooperation and exclusion into participation, demonstrating concretely that the energy and passion unleashed by our artistic disciplines (folk dance and flag-waving) are the key to a more inclusive and actively engaged youth. Our project promotes the idea that physical and creative action is a powerful antidote to these feelings. Engagement in artistic disciplines such as dance or flag-waving is not just a pastime, but a true therapy that produces concrete benefits. Based on the identified needs, our project has the following objectives: 1. Promote Social Inclusion Through Art; 2. Develop Soft Skills: improve participants' self-esteem, self-confidence, and social skills. The chosen disciplines require discipline, coordination, teamwork, and nonverbal communication, all key skills for inclusion in society. 3. Encourage Active Citizenship and Youth Participation: raise awareness among young people of their role within the local and European community. Through the creation and execution of joint performances, participants will become agents of change and promoters of values such as tolerance and cooperation. 4. Promote Cultural Heritage as a Bridge between Peoples: demonstrate how local traditions (Italian, Turkish, Slovenian) can be a universal language that unites, overcoming differences and strengthening European identity through the discovery and celebration of cultural diversity.
